David Paulsen skippered a crew of three Largo police officers and two civilians from Clearwater, Fla., to Key West while on light duty, recovering from a back injury. This document shows they took fourth place in the Division 7 class race. Several months later, Paulsen applied for and received a disability pension. The former Largo police officer is studying criminology at the University of South Florida.
